In my family sessions, I focus on capturing genuine, unscripted moments that unfold naturally. Whether your kids are young or have already flown the nest, or you're gathering the whole gang together, furry companions included, every family has a unique story to tell.
My aim is to preserve the authentic emotions and memories that arise during our time together. While I may offer some guidance for posing, the majority of our session revolves around simply spending quality time with your loved ones. Whether it's hugging, tickling, or just sharing laughter, these spontaneous moments are what truly capture the essence of your family.
My Family Sessions are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, held in a location of your choice, whether it be the comfort of your home or a picturesque outdoor setting, ensuring a personalised experience.
I want you to look back on your images years from now and remember what it felt like to be in this chapter of your life.

All Family Sessions Includes travel within 30 min of Otorohanga.

What time do sessions take place?
The best lighting for outdoor sessions is 1 hour before the sun sets or within the hour right after the sun has risen. If you wish to have an indoor lifestyle session within your home, the time of your session depends on when your home has the most amount of natural light in the area you wish to be photographed in. This is just a recommendation for the best lighting.
Where will the session take place?
The possibilities are honestly endless. I think we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world – there is so much to explore in and around the Waikato. The first thing I would suggest is to think of somewhere that is meaningful to you as a family. Do you love spending your days cuddling on the couch and playing in your cozy family home? Or do you enjoy going on walks together at a local (or not-so-local) park or even a nearby lake? Or do you live for summer beach days?
If you have some ideas but want to talk more about a specific location, I’m more than happy to chat and make some suggestions!
WHAT IF THE WEATHER FORECAST IS LOOKING AWFUL ?
We live in the Waikato, so there’s always a chance of rain, whether you book your session in winter or summer! If you are scheduled for an outdoor session and the forecast looks wet, we can either make the call the night before, or play it by ear and wait until morning.
The weather can make a huge difference to the photographs, depending on your vision. If you are after that golden sunset and it's raining, I’d recommend rescheduling for a better day. Alternatively, if you are after a playful wet session, you are welcome to go ahead with gumboots and raincoats if you are feeling brave!
WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF US IS SICK?
Just let me know as soon as possible and we’ll reschedule if you guys are sick, and we’ll also reschedule if I’m sick!
It’s important that everyone is well on the day, as we want everyone looking and feeling their best in the photos.
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel confident in but if you are after some recommendations, Pinterest is your BEST FRIEND – I have started a "what to wear" inspiration board to help you out.
My child has a bad graze or acne what can we do?
Don't worry, accidents happen! I am happy to edit out any grazes, scrapes or temporary acne.
As a general rule, I don't edit anything that is permanently part of someone's body. I don't do body sculpting or extensive photo retouching because I believe everyone is beautiful.
What happens after our session?
After your session, you will receive a proof gallery of your unedited images. Allowing you the opportunity to select your preferred images. Once you have chosen your images, I will then work on them, this can take about Two to Three Weeks.
You will then receive an online gallery with all your Edited Digital Images.
