New Born
My newborn sessions are designed to be relaxed and natural, always prioritizing your baby’s comfort. I gently pose your little one to capture all the delicate details these poses are always baby-led, ensuring each session is as unique as your child. Beyond posed portraits, I specialize in capturing those spontaneous, in-between moments that reflect your family’s story and emotional connections. These intimate sessions take place in the familiar surroundings of your own home, where your family can feel most at ease.
My 48 Hour sessions take place within the first 48 hours of life and usually at the hospital or birthing centre before you are discharged. These sessions are designed for families who wish to document the precious moments of their newborn's first few hours of life. This is also a perfect opportunity for siblings to meet the new baby for the first time. The photos are taken in a 'documentary' style, capturing natural moments of you with your baby and family.
There's something truly special about preserving the earliest memories of your child's life, the first chapter of their journey.

FAQ
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE AND BOOK A NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
I encourage you to get in touch as soon as you feel comfortable sharing your pregnancy news. Most mums book their newborn session during their second trimester to ensure availability.
As I only take on a limited number of newborn sessions each month, it’s never too early to secure your spot in my calendar.
When is the best time/age to schedule a newborn session?
The best time for newborn photos is ideally within the first 1–3 weeks after your baby is born, with 5–10 days old being the perfect window. During this stage, babies are usually sleepier, curl up naturally, and are easier to settle into those beautiful, cosy poses.
For families with toddlers or young children, I usually schedule sessions around 9:30–10:00am to help work around nap times. I also like to begin with family and sibling photos first so little ones can then relax, play, or enjoy some snacks once they’re finished.
I always keep sessions relaxed and child-led, and I have plenty of little tricks up my sleeve to make the experience feel fun and enjoyable for siblings too.
What if my baby is overdue or arrives earlier than expected? Can I change the date?
Absolutely. I understand that babies arrive on their own schedule, so your session date can be adjusted if your little one arrives earlier or later than expected.
When booking, I reserve a spot around your due date and once your baby arrives, we will confirm a suitable session date based on availability and your baby’s age.
I recommend getting in touch as soon as possible after birth so we can make any necessary arrangements and secure the best time for your session.
What time of day are sessions held?
Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled in the evening, as close to sunset as possible, because this is when the light is softer, more flattering, and makes a big difference to the overall look and feel of your final images. Sunrise sessions are also available for those who prefer a morning session.
For in-home lifestyle sessions, the timing will depend on when your home receives the best natural light in the areas you would like photographed.
These times are simply recommendations to help achieve the most beautiful lighting possible for your images.
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
Absolutely! I believe the location plays a big part in creating unique and meaningful photographs. Whether it’s in your home, outdoors, or at a location special to you, I’m always happy to capture your session somewhere that feels personal and reflects your story.
If you’re unsure where to have your session, I also have a location guide filled with some of my favourite recommendations. Please get in touch for the page link and password.
How long does a typical photo session last?
Most newborn sessions typically last around 1.5 hours, although every baby is different and some sessions may be a little shorter or longer. I always allow plenty of time so the session feels relaxed and unhurried while creating a beautiful variety of images for you to choose from.
If your baby needs extra settling time, frequent feeds, or is cluster feeding, sessions can occasionally last up to 3 hours.
I always follow your baby’s lead and allow time for cuddles, feeding, soothing, and breaks whenever needed.
What should I wear?
I always recommend dressing in a way that makes you feel confident and comfortable. That being said, certain colours and styles with minimal patterns or logos tend to photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on you and your family.
If you’re after some inspiration, Pinterest is your best friend — I’ve created a “What to Wear” inspiration board to help guide you. I also offer a client wardrobe with a selection of items available to borrow to help make styling your session easier.
Once your booking is confirmed, I will also provide you with a guide containing everything you need to know about what to wear and how to prepare for your session.
I would like to use an image or two for my birth announcement, would this be possible?
Of course! If you let me know before your session that you’d like to use an image or two for your birth announcement, I can prioritise editing a couple of high-resolution images for you shortly after your session so you have them ready in time.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! I understand that investing in photography is a big commitment, so I’m happy to offer flexible payment plans to help make your session more manageable.
A deposit is still required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance able to be split into smaller payments leading up to your session date. All payment plans must be completed before your session date.
Please feel free to get in touch and we can chat about an option that works best for you.
What if my house isn’t very photogenic?
Please don’t worry if you feel your home isn’t “photo perfect.” I’ve learnt how to work with natural light, and often all I need is a small area with a good window to create beautiful, natural images.
If you’re unsure about your space, you’re more than welcome to send me a few photos beforehand, and we can chat about the best areas to use. If needed, we can also discuss the option of hiring a studio space for your session.
Can my partner and children be included in the session?
Yes, absolutely! My sessions always include the whole immediate family. For maternity sessions, we usually begin with a mix of family photos including your partner and children, then finish the session with some individual images focused on you and your bump. These moments together often create the most special memories.
Can my pets be included in the session?
Absolutely, pets are such an important part of the family and are more than welcome to be included in your session. I’m very happy to photograph pets and love capturing the connection between you and your furry companions.
The only thing to keep in mind is whether your chosen location allows pets. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask, and I can help recommend a suitable location.
Do you retouch acne, scars or stretch marks?
I offer light retouching that focuses on enhancing natural beauty by gently retouching temporary blemishes such as acne and stretch marks, while still keeping you looking like yourself. Scars may be permanent, however upon request, I may be able to lightly retouch them.
As a general rule, I do not offer body sculpting or extensive retouching.
What can I expect after my session?
After your session, you will receive a proof gallery of your unedited images, allowing you the opportunity to select your favourite images. Once you have chosen your images, I will then begin editing them, which can take approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
Once complete, you will receive an online gallery containing all of your edited digital images.
Do you have another question?
Please contact me if you have any further questions. I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have.
What do you bring with you?
For my Baby and Lifestyle sessions, I bring along a large bean bag which is layered with a selection of soft, neutral-toned blankets to keep your baby cosy and comfortable. I also bring a variety of wraps and muslins for swaddling, layering, and styling your baby throughout the session.
I have a small selection of props and baby clothing pieces in my client's wardrobe that I can bring along for you to use during your session as well.
For my 48 Hour sessions, I bring a selection of wraps and muslins perfect for simple, natural newborn styling.
My baby is already born, am I too late to book a newborn session?
Not at all. I always try my best to accommodate last-minute newborn bookings whenever I have availability in my calendar, including babies up to around 2 months old.
While the ideal age for traditional newborn poses is typically between 5–14 days old, beautiful and meaningful images can still be captured at any stage during those early weeks. Every baby is different, and I will gently tailor the session to suit your baby’s age, comfort, and needs.
What happens if my baby has milk spots or baby acne?
Most newborns don’t have perfectly flawless skin, and that is completely normal. During the editing process, I gently retouch your selected images to soften or remove things such as baby acne, milk spots, scratches, flaky skin, and excessive redness while still keeping your baby looking natural.
If you would prefer your images left completely untouched, that is absolutely fine too — just let me know.
For things such as birthmarks, stork bites, or swelling/bruising from assisted delivery methods such as Ventouse or Forceps, we can discuss your preferences before editing so your images are finished exactly how you would like them.

What if my baby doesn't settle?
Some babies simply need a little extra time to feed, cuddle, and settle, which is why newborn sessions can sometimes last up to 3 hours.
All sessions are completely baby led, so if your little one needs a bit more comfort and support on the day, that is absolutely okay. We will simply follow their lead and take things at their pace.
Even if baby prefers to be held, we can still capture beautiful, natural images, especially those sweet moments in mum or dad’s arms.
